Introduction
Students will understand the basics of Color Theory and it’s important to art in all forms. This is lesson 1 of 4 of the PBL project Color: It’s More Than Just Your Favorite Color. Students will begin to experience color theory in a new and exciting way.
The opening activity provides a fun way to capture the interest of your students about color theory. They will be introduced to the emotions that correlate with color. Following the opening activities, the students will be given a lecture on the basics of Color Theory centering on the Color Wheel. They will be able to identity primary colors, secondary colors, contrasting colors, etc. Following the lecture students will research online to find Color Theory visual examples. This will be a quick check to assess their understanding of the lecture.
